βοΈ Winter Entrance Update
To ensure safety and prevent heat loss during colder months, our primary front entrance will remain locked for winter.
Please enter through the Central Block double doors (either via North Street or the interior hallway).
A doorbell is available if the door is closed when you arrive.
π§ Training & Leadership Opportunities
Group Facilitation Training β Early December
Members interested in learning how to facilitate peer-led groups at Living in Recovery may attend our next training session.
This training is also the first step toward becoming a Community Meeting Facilitator.
β¨ Programming Ideas Discussed
Members shared thoughtful ideas for expanding programs, especially for Thursday evenings at 6:30 PM. Ideas included:
β’ Rotating Arts & Crafts Nights (soap-making, candle-making, mending, jewelry, creative DIY projects)
β’ Cooking on a Budget β nutritious, affordable meal prep series
β’ Financial Literacy Workshops
β’ Possible return of a Friends & Family Support Group if interest supports it
A brief member survey will be created to gather input and determine priorities before scheduling.
π¨ Wood-Crafting Group β Proposal in Development
A proposal to offer a monthly wood-crafting workshop is being developed.
Before moving forward, additional planning is needed regarding:
β’ Safety procedures and supervision
β’ Tool use and risk management
β’ Cost estimates for materials and safety equipment
The proposal will return to a future meeting once more details are available.
π Peer Stipend Program Review
The community agreed that our current Peer Stipend Program would benefit from review to better reflect the needs of our growing center.
A dedicated Eagle Meeting will be held on Thursday, November 13 at 5:30 PM to discuss possible updates, including:
β’ Adjusting the custodial stipend
β’ Adding a laundry support role
β’ Adding 1β2 Recovery Coach-in-Training stipend positions
β’ Removing or revising roles no longer active or needed
All members are encouraged to attend the Eagle Meeting to share feedback and ideas.
